Welcome to Arise...
I am writing this from Okinawa, the southernmost island of Japan. I will be holding an Arise conference at Yomitan International Church (YIC), pastored by Glenn and Sue Kennedy, who have been connected with us since way back in the nineties. Theirs was one of the first churches that we ventured out to “activate” in the prophetic. This church has been an important doorway for the whole island of Okinawa, and they have faithfully and powerfully trained many in the prophetic and apostolic.
Interestingly, just a week ago I was in our Arise church in Towada, Aomori, on the extreme north of mainland Japan. We declared revival in the north. I believe we are to declare revival in the south as well.
We have some of the most powerful meetings here. There is a strong presence of God and great liberty. I look forward to what the Lord will do this weekend. I am planning to teach on the Apostolic Center and how God uses them to bring an open heaven to the whole region.
Walking With God Is For Now, And For All The Time...Not Some Supernatural State We Try To Attain!
Recently, we were discussing some of the hallmarks, or basic “mindshifts” that God brought to us as He shifted us into being “apostolic people.” One is that He wants us to walk with Him now. I think many of us have felt this is indeed a noble goal, but is beyond our present reach. Perhaps we think it will only happen when we get more spiritual. No, God wants us to do this daily, all the time. He longs to walk with us, and be with us.
“As for such as turn aside to their crooked ways [of indifference to God]...(Ps 125:5, AMP).” It’s very interesting that He calls indifference to God (forgetting about Him because we are too busy) as crookedness.
3 Things To Help Us Walk With God
(So, How Do We Walk With Him?)
* Ask Him to help us do so. Ask Him to help us remember Him in all things and not to be indifferent.
* Be thankful. I love 1 Cor 8:3. “But if one loves God truly [with affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, and grateful recognition of His blessing], he is known by God [recognized as worthy of His intimacy and love, and he is owned by Him] (AMP).” In other words, when we recognize His blessings and thank God, we begin to feel affectionate reverence.
* Pray about everything – all the little details, even in the midst of doing them. This will result in remarkable answers, and will cause great increase in thanks, resulting in more affection and obedience. Look at 1 Cor 8:3 again.
Refreshed in August, Thankfulness
Thank you so much for praying for us. Except for a trip to Korea, I was mostly home during August, with weekend ministry trips to Sano, Osaka, and Aomori. So, there was lots of rest, and Teddy and I feel very refreshed.
As always, it is a special treat to be able to vacation with our family. Mike (our eldest son) and his wife Rachel (and their two children, Jamie and Ashlie) work with us in Japan, as does our third son, Pete. Our second son, Andrew, and his wife Andrea are a bit farther away (Sri Lanka), but we are all in Asia.
We are also thankful that we are connected with so many wonderful people like you. We thank the Lord for His goodness to us. He keeps shaping, healing, helping, and adjusting us. God really is so good!
Let’s Focus On God’s Goodness And On Loving Him
Instead of writing a list of things to pray for this week, I felt I should just thank each of you again for standing with us, and that I should speak (well, write) the blessing of the Lord over each one. Be refreshed in the Lord and may we all know His love more and more and more!
God bless you.

Elul Is A Month Of Increase...
Let’s ask the Lord to continue to help us root out entrenched mindsets of deprivation, or “I have to do it myself.” Also, ask the Lord to show us areas of self-centeredness and failures in speech that, unbeknownst to us, are causing hindrance in our lives.
